23 Mar 1995 - A midnight phone call

                                                                A Midnight Phone Call

Our son was taken ill whilst on holiday abroad. We phoned Doris Sykes in the middle of the night to say that he had been admitted to hospital and did us know whether he had, or was he suffering from, a Mental illness.

He was in hospital here for three months and it was not until he has been at home for some time that a C.P.N mentioned N.S.F.

Initially Margaret the Hon. Secretary of the Nottingham Group made contacted and then we received a lovely letter from Doris the Co-Founder of the Nottingham Group inviting us to join the group at one of their meetings.

It was such a relief to meet up with people who having similar problems and who were only too pleased to help and support us.

The Nottingham Group has provided us with hope, comfort and friendship and long may the National Schizophrenia Fellowship flourish, particularly in Nottingham.
